A "Great Outdoors" Day in Devon

Start your day with a morning circular walk from Stoke Canon through Brampford Speke, part of which is along the Exe Valley Way, a peaceful river valley walk alongside the River Exe. From Stoke Canon, you can catch a bus or drive on towards Crediton. If you fancy sampling some local produce, stop at Quickes Farm near Newton St Cyres, where they produce award winning traditional cheeses, butter and ice cream. Visit the farm shop to browse the delicious cheeses and meats.

Continue your journey on towards Crediton and stop for lunch at the Lamb Inn in Sandford, a 16th century former coaching house serving delicious local food and real ales. For a relaxing afternoon, head to Creedy Lakes just outside Crediton where you can spend some time fishing and enjoying the scenery, or visit Stoke Woods, which you can explore following the way marked trails. If you fancy a bit of adventure, have a go at paintballing at Skirmish, based in Stoke Woods. For a delicious a la carte evening menu, head out to dinner to the Thelbridge Cross Inn north of Crediton.
