A Romantic Day in Devon

After a champagne breakfast, catch the First Great Western train along the scenic Tarka Line to Tiverton and watch the tranquil Mid Devon countryside go by. Once in Tiverton take a walk to the Grand Western Canal Country Park, where you can relax on a horse drawn barge journey along this unspoilt, historic waterway.

Hop on a bus to wind your way back along the country lanes to the beautiful waterside village of Bickleigh. Visit Yearlstone Vineyard and join one of the regular guided tours to sample some of the estate grown wines. Enjoy a late lunch in the Vineyard Terrace Café with spectacular views over the vineyard, the Exe valley and the River Exe winding its way to the sea far below. After lunch, take a stroll through the woodland along the River Exe and stop at Bickleigh Mill to browse for quality and unusual gifts and admire the 18th century historic working water mill.

Head back towards Exeter in time for a sunset balloon ride over the beautiful east Devon countryside with Aerosaurus Balloons, then head out to dinner at the Jack in the Green Inn in Rockbeare.
