Ilsington Country House Hotel

The Ilsington Country House Hotel is a family owned and run hotel situated in 10 acres of its own land inside the boundaries of the Dartmoor National Park within sight of the spectacular Haytor rocks. The hotel prides itself on its relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and award winning cuisine. The AA have awarded the hotel two rosettes and the RAC two blue ribbons for outstanding food.

Guests can walk out from the hotel to join footpaths and bridleways leading onto the moor or just put their feet up with a Devon Cream tea in our lounge or gardens. A roaring log fire will greet guests during winter and in summer there is the natural beauty of Dartmoor to enjoy.

Every bedroom is individual, all with en-suite bathroom and 3-star facilities. Every single one affords a panoramic view of the outstanding moorland scenery, which changes with every passing season.

The indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, spa pool, steam room and gymnasium is free to guests and provides the perfect place for relaxing or working off some of the excesses of the dining room. Also, nearby is an all-weather tennis court should you wish a more vigorous form of exercise.

The hotel is centrally situated for exploring the South Devon Coast and Dartmoor, while Cornwall and the Eden Project are only an hour or so away. We are located only a ten minute drive from the A38, which is a continuation of the M5.

Peaceful surroundings, extensive grounds and close proximity to open moorland and tors make this hotel the ideal place for outdoor activities and team building events. Well-suited to smaller meetings and team building sessions, our superb location aids concentration and allows delegates to relax and focus on the job in hand.

We also have many contacts in the field of team building who are able to offer assistance and tailor make a programme to suit your exact requirements. Corporate clients have included Guinness, Volkswagen, British American Tobacco, Princess Yachts, Amgen Pharmaceuticals and Bell Microproducts.

We have two large meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 100 delegates comfortably and several smaller meeting rooms for between 2 and 25 delegates plus several break-out rooms for smaller group sessions. The high levels of service we offer our conference delegates meets the same exacting standards as our other hotel guests, therefore you can expect food of a two rosette standard and delegates staying overnight get to choose from our daily choice menu on offer to all other residents.

The Ilsington Country House Hotel has a brand new Restaurant, which opened in May 2006. Carefully designed and planned this spacious room has dramatic views over Dartmoor and up to Haytor rocks. Large picture windows ensure that all diners have an excellent aspect on the rolling countryside. The interior of the room is equally spectacular with its domed ceiling and specially commissioned paintings of local scenes on the wall. Head Chef, Mike O’Donnell has been at the Hotel for 9 years and is the proud holder of 2 AA Rosettes. His contemporary cooking uses predominantly locally sourced ingredients. This fine food when enjoyed in elegant and breathtaking surroundings will please even the most discerning of diners. The Restaurant is fully air-conditioned and is totally non-smoking.
