Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta

The first Recorded Regatta in Dartmouth was in 1822. There were three sailing races, one six-oared gig race, and a military band played out at the Dartmouth Castle and 120 attended a ball. Today the regatta has turned into a huge extravaganza with air displays, music, rowing, tennis, running, yacht races, children’s activities, a fun fair, fireworks, plus much more for the whole family. Everyone should pay a visit to Dartmouth during regatta at least once. Rockpool Ramble

The staffs at Wembury Marine Centre regularly have guided tours around Wembury's rock pools where they invite you to join them. There is no need to book and prices are £1 for adults and 50p for children. All children, however, must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Marine Centre, on Wembury Beach, near Plymouth. Rambles last approx 1hour 30mins. Not suitable for very young children. We ask that you please wear suitable footwear for walking on slippery, seaweed covered rocks. Ilfracombe Folk Festival 2008

This is an exciting brand new event featuring over twenty five artists, representing the best in the folk and acoustic music, across three stages. You choose which stage and which artists so you get the best out of your visit. Friday night is free and will showcase well known North Devon songwriters, traditional musicians and new wave folk in the Pavilion from 8pm, where sadly, numbers will be limited. Widecombe Fair

Widecombe Fair was first held in the 1850’s, it now attracts many thousands of visitors and interest from all over the world. This is a real Devon country fare. Abbfest

With even more local beers and ciders, the 2008 Abbotskerswell Beer and Food Festival will hope to beet last year's record-breaking event.
