"The University of Exeter was the ideal venue for our new format of 2-day conferences, which we launched in 2016. The facilities were flexible and provided what we needed, more importantly, everyone we dealt with at the University and Event Exeter team were professional, supportive and in many ways felt like they were part of our team to make the event a success. Thank you." SWFED, (2016, 2017, 2018)
"Many thanks again to you and your team for such a beautifully managed prom, it was faultless and all the students had a memorable and special evening. The house and the grounds looked incredible, it really is the ideal venue. All the staff were excellent and made for a very easy event. I really couldn’t have hoped for more." A Month of Success for Event Exeter
Team celebrations are at an all-time high for Event Exeter as we celebrate a month of success for the business – a fantastic way to round off a hectic season, which has seen more than 1200 events successfully delivered across the University of Exeter campuses.
Sales and Marketing Recognition
The Conference News Academic Venue Awards aims to highlight excellence within the UK academic venues industry. This year we were immensely proud to pick up the award for the Best Sales and Marketing Team, a first for this particular area of the business.
The last 18 months have seen a phenomenal transformation in terms of marketing activity. A brand refresh, a high end brochure, a contemporary website with 360 video tours of venues and the implementation of a digital marketing strategy have all led to a clearer direction in messaging and results.
Devon Business Event Venue
Now in its 10th year, the Devon Tourism Awards aims to celebrate the very best of the tourism industry in the county.
Shortlisted alongside tough competition, the team were thrilled to scoop the Gold Award for Business Event Venue of the Year at the annual awards dinner held in Torquay.
The judging process is rigorous and not only do they evaluate the original entry, they monitor and report on marketing, online presence and arrange show rounds and or a secret shopper. The overall feedback referenced ‘unique venues and complete professionalism.’
The team now progress to the South West Tourism Awards, alongside all Gold winners, where each will compete for the coveted regional title for their respective category. The South West is a phenomenal county for hospitality and tourism and it is an honour to be among the best. The awards take place at the stunning Exeter Cathedral in February 2020 and we are keeping everything crossed.
Leading the Way
And finally our very own Head of Event Sales, Alex Penn, has made the coveted MiaList 2019 roll of honour. The people and teams who make up the list, work tirelessly to raise standards, deliver fantastic service, inspire those around them and go above and beyond to make a real difference.
Following a nomination from her team and daunting interview process with judges, Alex was named as one of the top ten.
Chosen for her impact on the business and going ‘above and beyond’ to ensure clients receive a seamless service, the team at Event Exeter are all incredibly proud of her achievements.
